Suffolk SS100 at the Silverstone Classic last Friday
There was a large Jaguar clubs area (both JEC and JDC) on the banking after Copse corner.
Roger is still using Steve Knight’s former car as a demonstrator. I understand that Steve traded it in to Roger for a Suffolk C-Type.

Footnotes
‘Suffolk Jaguar is dedicated to production of the visually exact reproduction of the legendary Jaguar SS100. It is a true and pure Jaguar, fully recognised and accepted by all the Jaguar car clubs around the world.’ – Suffolk Jaguar Ltd.
Designed by Jaguar Cars founder, William Lyons, and launched for 1936, the SS100 was the first real high-performance model produced by SS Cars Limited and is one of the most charismatic motor cars of all time. The SS100 was numbered among the fastest and best-handling sports cars of its day, as its competition record both before and after the war bears witness to. Only 314 had been completed when the outbreak of WW2 halted production and nowadays these cars are among the most desirable of all post-Vintage thoroughbreds.
The scarcity and astronomical cost of original examples has resulted in a continuing healthy demand for replicas of this landmark British sports car. One of the foremost producers of such copies is Suffolk Jaguar, of Woodbridge, whose proprietor, Roger Williams, has been involved with the Jaguar marque for more than 40 years. The Suffolk SS100 was initially developed by Terry Rowing, of Colchester, Essex and marketed as the Trac. Rowing took an accurate body mould off racing car designer Adrian Newey’s SS100 and developed a new chassis to accept Jaguar XJ-6 running gear. Up and running in 1990, the first Trac SS100 was received with critical acclaim by the motoring press and 4-5 cars per annum were sold over the next few years. Early in 1996 Roger Williams purchased the project from Terry Rowing, making a number of improvements to car’s construction and performance without compromising its looks. Production continues at Woodbridge today.
Built by one of its customers, this SS100 was purchased from the Suffolk Jaguar stand at the 2008 Goodwood Revival meeting by the current vendor. To ‘standard’ specification, the car incorporates Jaguar XJ-6 running gear and a Mk2 3.8-litre XK engine coupled to a four-speed manual/overdrive gearbox. Smartly presented throughout, ‘100 HXH’ is offered with manufacturer’s construction manual, current road fund licence, MoT to October 2010 and Swansea V5.
